The Second Meeting of the G20 Employment Working Group in 2022 was held in Indonesia.


The second meeting of the G20 Employment Working Group in 2022 under the Indonesian Presidency was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on May 10-12, 2022.

A delegation including Çağatay Halat, the head of the Department of International Organizations and Labour Expert Şahin Metin from our General Directorate, Labour Expert Selçuk Yaşar from the General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety, Assistant Expert Damlanur Arslantaş from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance attended the meeting.

 At that meeting, the G20 member states, the invited countries and international organizations made presentations on “creating employment opportunities in the context of changing working conditions” and “the adaptation of employment security system for a more effective protection of all employees and enhanced durability”, which are the third and fourth priority areas under Indonesia's presidency in terms of employment. Our General Directorate presented information on the role and importance of SMEs in creating employment opportunities in our country, programs applied to support SMEs and to promote entrepreneurship as well as grants provided to SMEs in the COVID-19 pandemic, within the framework of the priority of “creating sustainable employment under changing work conditions”.

At the meeting, the following issues were also discussed: updating the “G20 Skills Strategy” developed during the Presidency of our country in 2015, and the Ministerial Declaration, which is expected to be adopted at the end of the G20 Meeting of Ministers of Labour and Employment, scheduled for September 14, 2022. During the meeting, a joint presentation was delivered by the authorities of our country and the United States, as co-chairs of the G20 Occupational Safety and Health Network, and participants were informed about the work undertaken
