Türkiye-Romania 27th Joint Economic Commission Meeting was held in Istanbul. The Administrative Arrangement on the Application of the Agreement between Romania and the Republic of Türkiye on Social Security was initialed during the meeting.


The 27th Term Meeting of the Turkey-Romania Joint Economic Commission (JEC) was held in Istanbul on 31 March 2022, co-chaired by our Vice President Mr. Fuat Oktay and Romanian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sorin-Mihai GRINDEANU.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security was represented at the meeting by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister Dr. Adnan ERTEM. Deputy Minister, Dr. Adnan ERTEM met State Secretary Mădălin-Cristian VASILCOIU from the Romanian Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity. On the occasion of the JEC Meeting, the “Administrative Arrangement on the Application of Romania and the Republic of Türkiye on Social Security", whose negotiations were completed, was initialed by our Deputy Minister and his Romanian counterpart.

The Administrative Arrangement in question is planned to be signed by H.E. Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat BİLGİN and the Romanian Minister of Labour and Social Solidarity, Mr. Marius Constantin Budai, who is scheduled to visit our country in May.

Head of Department of Agreements of General Directorate for Foreign Relations, Dr. Selim Dağlıoğlu and Labour Expert Oğuz ERTOGDU also attended the meeting.

An action plan covering 82 key actions was also signed at the JEC meeting. In addition, a road map including many areas from industrial cooperation to facilitating trade and investments, from cooperation in the field of agriculture and energy to cultural partnerships was drafted.
