The 2nd Diaspora Forum of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Bursa. The Ministry was represented by Mr. Ahmet Nazif GARIBAGAOGLU, Deputy Director General of Foreign Relations


The diasporas of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which are member states of the Organization of Turkic States, assembled in the 2nd Diaspora Forum held in Bursa on March 28-29. The forum was attended by the ministers responsible for the diaspora of the member states, heads of institutions, representatives of NGOs in the diaspora and academics.

The participants shared their experiences about the services they offer to citizens abroad in the fields of law, education, science, economics and business. Throughout the forum, the activities of the Organization of Turkic States, which has a large diaspora potential of 20 million people, as well as the cooperation among the member states were emphasized.

Mr. Ahmet Nazif GARIBAGAOGLU, Deputy Director General of Foreign Relations, participated in the forum on behalf of our Ministry. In his speech, Mr. GARIBAGAOGLU provided information on the services provided to our citizens abroad by our Ministry through central organization and that of abroad, and then he answered questions. 

Stressing that 6 million Turkish citizens living abroad are provided with necessary services, GARIBAĞAOGLU said: “Up until now, we have reached out to 164,440 citizens with our 57 units in 29 countries and we have achieved citizen satisfaction at a rate of 98%. He added: "We continue to come together with our citizens at briefings, vocational education fairs and social visits.”
