Negotiations were held between officials of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan and our Ministry’s officials on the renewal of the Social Security Agreement, currently in force between the two countries.

The delegations comprising officials of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Republic of Türkiye and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan held talks in Ankara on 30-31 January 2024 concerning the renewal of the Social Security Agreement, which is in effect between the Government of Republic of Türkiye and Government of Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the negotiations held in an utterly amicable and cordial atmosphere, delegations of Türkiye and Azerbaijan exchanged information elaborately and comprehensively on the pension systems and implementations regarding general social insurance in their respective countries as well as work accidents and occupational diseases. In addition, consensus was reached as regards drafting a new Agreement to be concluded between Türkiye and Azerbaijan by having regard to the sensitivities and priorities of both Countries.

The parties also agreed upon the scope of the new Agreement envisaged to be signed.
