Our Ministry Organized a Training on Evidence-Based Policy Making together with ILO


A "National Training on Evidence-Based Policy Making for Decent Work" was held between 8-12 May 2023 in cooperation with our Ministry and ILO Office for Türkiye and Research Unit.

The “National Training on Evidence-Based Policy Making for Decent Work”, which was provided by the International Labour Organization (ILO) between 8-12 May 2023, started with the opening speeches of our Deputy Minister Dr. Adnan Ertem, Giovanni Di Cola, the Director of the ILO Office for Türkiye, and Naren Prasad, Head of Education and Training at ILO Research Department.

The training, in which experts from the relevant departments of our Ministry as well as experts from employee and employer organizations participated, lasted for five days.

With the training, which was requested by our ministry and hosted by the Directorate General for Foreign Relations, participants were informed about the methods for developing the capacities of the government and social parties (employee and employer organizations), using evidence (research, data, good practices) in a more efficient way in the field of policy making, policy advocacy or policy influencing in relation to decent work in our country.

Practical activities were held to develop participants' skills in developing policy proposals on issues such as unrecorded work, social protection, minimum wage, migration movements, platform employees, throughout the training, which included various research methods, analytical tools, databases, data interpretation, evaluation and synthesis of evidence and better communication of evidence.

At the end of the training, the participants prepared a policy briefing on a topic of their choice and presented it to the other participants.
