Our Directorate General Participated in the 20th Meeting of the Regional Platform on Employment and Labour of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM)

The 20th Meeting of the Regional Platform on Employment and Labour of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) was held in Valencia.

In addition to the UfM Member States, representatives of social partners and numerous international non-governmental organizations, including the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the European Training Foundation (ETF), the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED), and the Confederation of European Business (BusinessEurope), also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, which was attended on behalf of our country by Deputy Director General Dr. Ömer Faruk Aydemir and Labour Expert Batuhan Tavukçu, discussions focused on strengthening regional cooperation in the Mediterranean within the framework of the UfM Monitoring Mechanism, as well as on youth employment, women’s employment, improving access of young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs) to the labour market, digital skills, vocational qualifications, and the promotion of formal employment.
