Deputy Minister Prof. Dr. Lutfihak Alpkan Welcomed UNFPA Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Florence Bauer and Delegation

Florence Bauer, Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and her accompanying delegation visited our Deputy Minister, Prof. Dr. Lutfihak Alpkan, on 7 September 2026.

During the visit, current issues including the demographic transformation process in Türkiye, elderly care services, women’s participation in the labour force, and family-friendly workplaces were discussed.

The meeting also included discussions on keeping up the technical efforts to strengthen existing cooperation between our Ministry and UNFPA and to establish new partnerships in the future.
