Minister Işıkhan Visited the Yunus Emre Institute’s Jakarta Office

Emphasizing that Türkiye and Indonesia are two friendly nations sharing deep-rooted historical ties, common civilizational values, and strong people-to-people relations, Minister Işıkhan stated: “In recent years, thanks to the strong political will demonstrated by our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the President of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, our relations are developing further day by day at the level of a strategic partnership. The visit paid to Indonesia by our esteemed President in February of last year is significant in demonstrating the level that the strategic partnership between our two brotherly nations has reached. Undoubtedly, it is not merely economy, trade, and politics that make the friendship between nations enduring. What truly makes friendship lasting is culture, language, art, and the bonds established between hearts. For this reason, we attach great importance to further deepening the cooperation between our countries in the fields of education, culture, art, and human interaction.

The Two Countries Are Connected by an Ancient Bridge of Hearts

Emphasizing the special significance of visiting the Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute, Işıkhan said, “For we are not merely representatives of two friendly nations; we are the heirs to two great civilizations that have drawn from a shared tradition of wisdom and spiritual insight for centuries. Today, our Yunus Emre Institute serves as a highly valuable cultural ambassador, rebuilding this ancient bridge of hearts and sharing our Turkish language, culture, and civilizational heritage with the world through a language of love, wisdom, and dialogue. Through its diverse activities—ranging from language courses and cultural events to academic collaborations and artistic endeavors—it successfully represents our country’s cultural richness and the geography of our shared affection across the globe. We are pleased to observe that the activities conducted in Indonesia make significant contributions to strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the two nations, enabling younger generations to get to know one another better, and fostering greater cultural interaction. I wholeheartedly congratulate and thank all the members of our Yunus Emre Institute who have contributed to these successful efforts.”

We Will Increase the Sharing of Knowledge and Experience with Friendly and Brotherly Nations

Noting that while culture lays the foundation for enduring friendships between societies, cooperation in the fields of labor and social security strengthens these friendships on an institutional level, Minister Işıkhan stated: “As the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, we regard strengthening working life, increasing quality employment, making our social security system more inclusive, and consolidating peace in working life as our core priorities, in line with a people-centered social state approach. Under the leadership of our esteemed President, we have implemented significant reforms in recent years that encompass all stakeholders in the labor sector. We are resolutely continuing our efforts to boost employment, support the participation of women and youth in the labor market, develop vocational skills, combat informal employment, and strengthen the sustainability of our social security system. Furthermore, we attach great importance to sharing knowledge and experience with friendly and brotherly nations on the international stage, and we are making intensive efforts to enhance cooperation in the areas of social security, labor, employment, and occupational health and safety. In line with this vision, during our visit to Indonesia, we carried out the necessary work to reinforce cooperation between our countries in the fields of labor and social security.
