Minister of Labor and Social Security, Dr. Mehmet Müezzinoğlu indicated that visa procedures between Turkey and Vietnam should be facilitated and said “We need to take steps to facilitate the visa processing of our countries in order to increase the travel between the two countries”
Müezzinoğlu attended the 7th Turkey-Vietnam Joint Economic Council Meeting in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. He chaired the meeting and met with Tran Tuan Anh, Vietnamese Industry and Trade Minister and received the President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Müezzinoğlu said that a road map was set out in order to increase the trade volume between two countries to 4 billion dollars.
Minister Müezzinoğlu remarked that after two days of negotiations, major decisions were taken in many areas. He expressed the idea of signing of a free trade agreement between Turkey and Vietnam and said “We think that a free trade agreement to be signed between our countries will make a significant contribution to our bilateral commercial relations”
Müezzinoğlu also noted that negotiations on two documents in the field of free zones and standardization were concluded; and it was decided that the negotiations on the customs, agriculture, visa, defense, forestry and water issues should be accelerated and concluded as soon as possible.
Expressing that the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Vietnam will take place in 2018, Minister Müezzinoglu stated that within this framework, there are plans to carry out many activities in cultural, economic and political fields.
