4th Meeting of G20 Employment Working Group Was Held


Having taken over G20 term presidency from Italy, Indonesia hosted this year’s 4th meeting of G20 Employment Working Group.

Having been held on 20-22 July 2022 via videoconferencing, the meeting was attended by a delegation headed by Deputy Director General of Foreign Relations Ali Aybey, comprising Head of Department for Agreements Çağatay Halat, Labour Experts Medeni Can Akın and Şahin Metin, Assistant Expert of Treasury Damlanur Arslantaş from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.  

Ongoing talks took place during the meeting with regard to the Declaration of Ministers envisaged to be adopted following the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers Meeting, which will be held in Bali on 14 September 2022.  

Having attended the online meeting, representatives of Labour Ministries of G20 members remarked on the technical documents foreseen to constitute the Declaration of Ministers and its annexes and efforts continued in order to reach a consensus for a common written language.   

The aforementioned endeavours are expected to continue at the fifth meeting to be held in August.
