Minister Işıkhan held talks in Tajikistan

Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan visited Tajikistan to strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Tajikistan. During the visit, Minister Işıkhan attended the 1st Meeting of the Joint Labour Commission.
As part of his visit, Minister Işıkhan held a bilateral meeting with Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan. Following the meeting, in which the steps to be taken to increase cooperation in the areas of working life and employment were discussed, the first meeting of the Joint Labour Commission was held with the participation of delegations from both countries.
The Joint Action Plan regarding the 2026-2027 period was implemented with the Protocol signed by the Ministers at the end of the meeting. The Action Plan aims to develop cooperation in the fields of working life, employment, vocational training, and occupational health and safety. Minister Işıkhan described this meeting of the Joint Labour Commission as historic, as it was the first meeting of the Joint Labour Commission in 23 years, within the scope of the Joint Cooperation Agreement signed between the two Ministries in 2002.
Having met with Tajikistan's First Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Kholiqzoda and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir during his visit to Tajikistan, Minister Işıkhan stated that Türkiye views Tajikistan, a friendly and brotherly country, as an important partner in the Central Asian region, which is the ancestral homeland of Türkiye.
In the scope of the visit, Minister Işıkhan paid a visit to the Craft and Vocational Skills Development Center supported by TİKA together with his Tajik counterpart and met with young trainees. Minister Işıkhan said: “We are proud of our TİKA, which successfully demonstrates the Turkish-type development cooperation model all across the world.”
Minister Işıkhan also met with businesspeople at the World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) Dushanbe Office. During the meeting, investment opportunities and trade relations between the two countries were discussed, and parties exchanged views on developing joint ventures.
Minister Işıkhan also met with the Ambassador of Türkiye to Dushanbe, Umut Acar, and the Embassy staff. Minister Işıkhan was briefed on the activities of the Embassy and congratulated Ambassador Acar and his team, expressing his satisfaction with the harmonious work of all units.
